SALVATION What is Salvation? Jesus is the Son of God who was sent to save mankind from death and sin. He was alive before He came to earth: John 1:1-3, 14; John 8:58. Jesus fulfilled over three hundred prophecies in the bible, concerning His ancestors – Abraham and David: Matthew 1:1-17. His place of birth – Bethlehem: Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:5-6. His manner of death – the cross; Isaiah 53 and His resurrection: Luke 24:6.The Bible teaches that all men have sinned: Romans 3:23. But, Jesus did not commit sin:1 Peter 2:21-23. Jesus was tempted just like us, but He did not sin: Hebrews 4:14-15. His Miracles confirms His words. Nicodemus said, “We know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that thou doest, except God be with him.” John 3:2. Jesus ascended to heaven as prophesied in Daniel 7:13 to begin His reign as King over His Kingdom, which began on the first Pentecost after He rose from the dead: Acts 2.We have to believe in Christ to be saved. Salvation can only come through Jesus: Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 2:5; John 3:36.John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but has everlasting life.” If we fail to believe and obey Him, we have no hope for heaven: John 8:24; Matthew 7:21-23. Why do I need Salvation? And how do I get saved? Be Born AgainShould you decide to accept the free gift of eternal life God has made available to you through Jesus?Believing in your heart and making a simple confession with your mouth that Jesus is Lord is all you have to do to be saved. The great thing about calling on Jesus is that He will not put you on hold and make you wait for salvation. When you call upon Him by confessing Him as Lord of your life, you will be saved. There is no question about it. By now you might say, “Salvation is a free gift I cannot earn. Looking over my life, I can’t say that I deserve to be saved.”Look at what the Bible says about this: “I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe He died for me on Calvary’s tree, bearing my sins for me. I believe that He rose from the dead and is alive right now”.A Prayer For Your SalvationFor whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Believe in your heart and say the following prayer with your mouth: Dear Lord Jesus, come into my life now! Come into my heart now. I believe in my heart, therefore, I say with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior. And I am, right now, born again. If you just prayed the prayer above you are now born again.Nothing spectacular may have happen to you as you prayed and you may not feel any different from the way you felt two minutes before you prayed. But make no mistake, you are saved. Don’t let anyone or even yourself convince you otherwise. When you leave this life, heaven will be your home.Attend an active churchNow that you have accepted Jesus in your live, we encourage you to attend a church in your local community.Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.We believe that you will grow in your faith in Christ Jesus and receive the love and support of fellow believers and church leaders.Be baptizedWhy do I need to be baptized? You have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, Ephesians 4:5 says: One Lord, one faith, one baptism. Baptism is very essential in every believer’s life. The bible is straightforward about it as in John 3:5 Jesus answered: Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.What to do to receive the Holy Spirit?Mark 1:8 says I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. In order to receive the Holy Spirit you need to repent. In Acts 2:38, Peter said to them: Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.Partake in the Holy Communion1 Corinthians 11:17-34But in giving this instruction, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse. For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it. For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you. Therefore when you meet together, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper, for in your eating each one takes his own supper first; and one is hungry and another is drunk. What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I will not praise you. For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world. So then, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you will not come together for judgment. The remaining matters I will arrange when I come.
